The Group was founded in Venezuela in 1975 as suppliers of porcine pancreas glands to Novo Nordisk and later expanded across Latin America producing biological products for life science and nutrition from upcycling bovine by-products. Sera Scandia A/S has offices in North America, South America and Europe.

HISTORY
Sera Scandia was established in 1975 in Venezuela as a supplier of porcine pancreas glands to Novo Nordisk. Since then, we have broadened our product range and specialized in the production of serum for the life science industry. Over the years, we have grown our business by entering new markets, expanding our serum production, and diversifying into the production of cell culture media and blood protein products. Today, we have offices in North America, South America, and Europe.

FILTRATION AGREEMENT WITH BIOWEST FRANCE
We have in place a filtration agreement with Biowest guaranteeing quality, traceability and compliance with EU standards for animal welfare and are exclusive in procuring Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) following the unique EU regulations for identification and registration of bovine animals ensuring documented traceability to the individual animal.

Sera Scandia A/S is a leader in the procurement of European animal sera from free grazing animals with no exposure to GMO feed and hormones and submitted to the most rigorous testing in the world as per EU legislation.
